Success Story

Arden Henderson

High School: Martin L. King Jr. High School
Class: Senior
College Attending: Vanderbilt University

When asked what specific skills she's learned in 21st Century Leaders...
"Two of the most important skills that I have learned through 21st Century Leaders are the ability to appreciate diversity and public speaking.  I have found that an appreciation of diversity often leads to a heightened understanding of how best to communicate with others."

When asked why she thinks it's important for leaders to serve the community...
"Leaders are the models of the community.  It is important for a leader to serve the community because they will inspire others to work to improve it as well.  Major improvement begins with a collective effort that is often caused by leaders within the community."

Arden is an intern with Cartoon Network Closet and a member of 21st Century Leaders' Youth Advisory Board.  She is in the top 5 percent of her senior class at Martin L. King Jr. High School and was voted Most Outstanding Senior Female by faculty and staff.  Arden is a recipient of the Comcast Leader and Achiever Scholarship.  She succeeds academically at her school and she is also a member of the golf team.
