Oglethorpe University
Oglethorpe University offers a beautiful campus and an exciting look at a metro university. It stands out among other college campuses with its elaborate structures that mirror castles from medieval times! The food here is too tasty for words, and the dorms are suite style giving you the college life experience.
During 2007, students had the opportunity to work with Cartoon Network on special projects and workshops. And in the true spirit of Atlanta, we attended a Braves game at Turner Field, and one of our facilitators caught a baseball!
Savannah State University
The beauty and history of Savannah brings visitors to the city from all over the world. Savannah State University is a historically black university in the heart of Savannah, evoking all the southern charm the city possesses in one beautiful campus. Students reside in the new Freshmen Living and Learning Center.
In 2007, students had fun at the beach and also visited the Riverview Rehabilitation Center, which assists elderly patients, and the Georgia Power Plant Kraft.
Georgia Southern University
The charm of the south can be found in Statesboro. Participants stay in Eagle Village, which is GSU's newest dorm. During Summer 2007, students visited the Raptor Center and saw the Birds of Prey show, which featured a bald eagle! Hands on Ogeechee invited our students to come in and sort books to be donated.
