The Leadership Development Corp is an integral part of 21st Century Leaders. The objectives of this group are: 1) to pass along leadership skills though contributions and presence at the programs of 21CL; 2) to provide a vehicle for professional networking and expand financial resources for the agency. Opportunities exist throughout the year to interact with students and to network as a professional group. The LDC respects your time and commitments; therefore each volunteer opportunity will have a clear objective with defined, specific timeframes. Here are some opportunities to get involved:
- Winter Leadership Weekend Luncheon Set up & Meet and Greet Reception with Students: Members of the LDC host a networking reception with students. Past events have featured a "get to know you" scavenger hunt.
- Global Youth Service Day: LDC volunteers have the opportunity to "work" along side our students in a community service project in celebration of this international event.
- Leadership Unplugged: A CNN Experience: In partnership with CNN, this week on the GA Tech campus attracts students from around the state. LDC volunteers interview students and review applications as part of the recruitment process.
- Summer Leadership Institutes: Each year, students participate in one-week leadership institute on various college campuses. LDC volunteers lead workshops, participate in panel presentations on topics of interest, and even join the students for leadership lunches and dinners.
- Stewards of Scholarship: This evening event raises funds for scholarships for 21st Century Leaders. LDC members organize the event, seek sponsors and silent auction items, and bring their friends! The first Stewards of Scholarship event netted $10,000!
