Goizueta Youth Leadership Summit (GYLS) is one of 21CL’s intensive two-day leadership training experiences. Held in February, GYLS exposes 21st Century Leaders’ students to a new set of leadership workshops, networking opportunities and social activities with peers and professionals.
Day 1: One of our corporate partners and business professionals deliver a robust program that teaches essential leadership and business skills and provides industry-specific networking opportunities and workshops to students. The 2019 summit theme is “Georgia Arts on My Mind,” exploring the careers, talents, and leadership of the arts and entertainment industry in Georgia. Keynote speaker Lee Thomas, the Deputy Commissioner for Georgia Film, Music & Digital Entertainment will kick off the day with insight about the business of entertainment in Georgia.
Day 2: Students learn various layers of business and entrepreneurship skills through hands-on experiences and mentorship from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University’s student-led community service group, Goizueta Gives. Students work in teams to problem-solve like the MBA students do, coming up with a creative business solution to a topical case study.
